With all the recent rain we have had, it might be a good time to explain flood insurance.   It is not included on your homeowners or any property insurance policy.    Flood insurance is a separate policy purchased thru FEMA and the Federal Flood Insurance Program.  We can hook you up but you need to know it is a separate policy and is based on the "zone" you are in.   Community flood maps are draw to give every address a flood zone.   It is not cheap.
Your homeowners policy does not cover flood.   Any "rising" or surface water is considered flood water.   If a lot of rain seeps into your basement, that is rising or surface water and would be a flood insurance policy thing and not homeowners insurance.
A homeowners policy covers a multitude of perils but flood isn't one of them.
FYI and something you need to know before it happens.,
Have a good day!
